Boston’s Big Night Live came alive on April 26 as New York City-based duo Sofi Tukker delivered an unforgettable night filled with music, movement, and nonstop energy. The evening kicked off with spirited sets from openers Rivas and Kareem, setting the perfect tone. When Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern finally took the stage, the crowd came alive, and the energy stayed electric from start to finish.

Sofi Tukker were joined by two dynamic backup dancers whose synchronized, high-energy choreography added a thrilling visual layer to the performance. With their signature mix of global rhythms, house beats, and playful lyrics, Sofi Tukker delivered a set packed with fan favorites, irresistible grooves, and plenty of surprises. Sophie’s magnetic stage presence and bilingual vocals paired perfectly with Tucker’s commanding energy behind the decks. Together, they kept the momentum sky-high, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a celebration than a concert.

Performing ahead of their upcoming album butter, set to drop on May 16, Sofi Tukker had fans buzzing about this jazz- and bossa nova-inspired companion to their 2024 album BREAD. Although they did not perform any tracks from butter during the show, the promise of richer Brazilian influences and a smoother, more sophisticated sound added an exciting new layer to their evolving style. Known for their high-energy EDM sets, it is exciting to imagine how butter will come alive on stage. I am definitely hoping a butter tour is on the horizon so fans can hear this fresh sound live.
