ETHAN TASCH 6/13
— June 13, 2025 —
On the evening of Friday, June 13, Ethan Tasch took the stage at the Red Room at 939 Cafe for the final East Coast stop of A Real Headline Tour…, his first-ever run of headline shows, which began earlier this year and will wrap up on June 21 in Minneapolis. Ethan began the night with a test for the Boston crowd; whoever was the loudest would get a free hat from his merch stand as a reward. This competition was brought about due to when the opener, Samantha McKaige, had come onstage, the crowd had remained sitting and had to be asked to stand before she began performing—so Ethan wanted to make sure the crowd was loosened up. Safe to say, the crowd was very enthusiastic for the rest of the night. (Congratulations to Jess who got the free hat!)
Ethan and his band, consisting of Mikey LaSusa, Trevor Zemsteff, and Wyatt Moran, performed many tracks off of Ethan’s album Got Him!, such as fan favorites “Shell,” “Love and Japan,” and “Hold Up,” along with songs off Ethan’s newest EP, Mixtape (Edit), including “Everyone’s a Bullet,” which was definitely a track that seemed to bring the crowd to life. The crowd was given an option between two songs, “Whattaya Say” versus “Good News,” in which the cheers for “Good News” made the winner incredibly clear. Ethan Tasch’s indie, twangy style of music held the crowd in a trance, his undeniably raw lyrics sung softly along amongst fans as his voice filled the venue.
Ethan Tasch is one of the most down-to-earth artists I’ve had the pleasure of seeing, even hanging around the merch table to sign and sell his own merch before and after his set. If you ever get the pleasure of having him perform near you, I urge you to get that ticket and show up! This current tour he’s on is wrapping up, but I’m sure he will return in the future with even more of his indie twang.
